NEW CASTLE —
Mahoning Township will have its spring cleanup the weeks of April 28 and May 5.
Residents should place items at the curb the day before their scheduled collection. They should be neatly bagged or bundled.
Unacceptable items include plate glass, items longer than 10 feet, perishables, garbage, batteries, tires, paint cans and large amounts of wood.
Refrigerators and air conditioners will not be accepted unless the Freon has been removed professionally and the item tagged.
Residents of mobile home parks should place their items at the entrances, as the crews will not enter the parks.
The schedule is:
•April 28 — Hillsville (East and West Main streets), Churchill Road to Bessemer-Hillsville Road, Rich Avenue, Carbon area, West State Street east from the Ohio line to Churchill Road including Quaker Heights.
•April 29 — Overlook and Francis drives; Churchill Road to the river; West State Street from Churchill east; Rachal, Carbon-Micco and Arena roads; Hilltop and Butch estates.
•April 30 — Miller Farm and Mohawk School roads, Edinburg, North Edinburg Road south, Countryside Mobile Home Park, West State Street east of Hilltop Estates.
•May 1 — North Edinburg, the eastern section of the township including Benjamin Franklin Highway, the Harbor, Sankey Run Road, North Edinburg Road north, and Twilight and Devite mobile home parks.
•May 2 — Zoccoli Mobile Home Park; Matthews, Garner, Five Points, Zoccoli and Palmer roads; and Denny Drive.
•May 5 — Ambrosia Road; Skyhill Road west to Hillsville Road; and Baird, Hillsville and Coffee Run roads.
•May 6 — Evergreen Road, Skyhill Road from Hillsville Road west, Butch Circle, and McBride and Carlisle roads.
•May 7 — Erskine Quarry; Graham, River and Jacobson roads.
