Class of 1948 holds gathering

There were 72 class members and guests gathered to mark the 65th anniversary of New Castle’s class of 1948.
Reunion chairwoman Mary Lou Williams welcomed them to the New Castle Country Club.
Also participating in the program were the Rev. Nick Choco, invocation; Fritz Williams and Vonne Williams, music; Cindy Kerr, memory boards; Phil LaScola, class song; Lilly McClure and Mary Lou Williams, singing of “God Bless America”; Don Lawson and Lois Locke, members’ advice to the class of 2013.
During the business meeting, reminders were given about the Aug. 13 picnic at Pearson Park and the Girls of ’48 meetings each June and December at Tuscany Square.
Those attending from out of state were: Ken and Marly White, Arizona; Choco and Lawson, California; Rose Marie Brown, Colorado; Jerry and Joanne Anderson, Connecticut; Mary Jane and Dave Diana, Wayne and Dee Gray, Gene and Alice Gribble, Camille Schepp, Lee McComb and Barbara Trumble, Florida; Jim and Ellie White, Nebraska; Roy Morrow, Ohio; Mary Louise and George Pizoli, West Virginia.
Plans are being discussed for the next reunion.
