Commission recommends OK for counseling center

NEW CASTLE — The New Castle Planning Commission has recommended approval for a drug and alcohol counseling center in the downtown.

New Horizons Treatment Center has requested approval for a conditional use to locate the facility in Washington Centre. No drugs will be dispensed at the facility.

The property is located in a C-2 central business district of the Second Ward.

The commission also recommended this week that a request by Imran Sean for a conditional use to operate a used car dealer lot at 1024 N. Liberty St. The property is in a C-1 general business district of the Seventh Ward.

Both recommendations have been forwarded to city council, which must give final approval.
