Grandparental custody program set

NEW CASTLE — A program on custody laws specific to grandparents raising grandchildren will be held Monday at Third Presbyterian Church.

Penn State Extension and Challenges: Options in Aging are sponsoring the event that will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church at 1315 E. Washington St.

A light dinner will be available.

Michelle Debord, managing attorney of Neighborhood Legal Services for Lawrence and Butler counties, will speak on the topic.

Preregistration is requested and children are welcome.

Those planning to attend should call by today at (724) 654-8370 and specify the number of adults and children.

  • Columbia Gas announces pipeline replacement work

    Columbia Gas has scheduled a pipeline replacement project for New Castle. Beginning this month, the company will replace approximately 2,800 feet of existing steel pipe along Eastbrook and Paper Mill roads and Cascade Street. The project is expected to be completed in July.
