Vehicle waiting on school bus rear-ended

The drivers involved in a two-car crash Friday morning apparently escaped injury.

The accident happened on Route 208 in Washington Township, part-way up a steep hill leading out of Volant.

According to a firefighter with the Volant Fire Department, an older man driving a four-door Toyota Camry struck the back of Jeep driven by a young woman who had stopped to wait for a school bus.

The car sustained major front end damage. The Jeep had damage to its rear bumper.

Noga ambulance crews responded, but both drivers refused treatment. State police also were at the scene

The accident happened near the Mercer-Lawrence county line.

Firefighters were able to keep the road open by alternating lanes of traffic around the impact area.
