New Castle police are searching for a man who may be connected to a city robbery and residential break-in.

A male robbed Dunkin’ Donuts, located on 134 N. Mill St., at 10:12 p.m. Monday. Carrying a handgun, he was dressed in black and carried a white backpack.

Police reported that the man demanded cash from a female employee, who was preparing to take trash outside. The man held the gun at the worker until he received cash. He then fled the scene.

Around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, a white male wearing a black hoodie entered a Bartram Avenue residence. The victim stated he was in the living room using the family computer when the man appeared.

The intruder struck the man twice on the head with a brick after being told there was no money available. The man fled after the victim’s mother came downstairs and attempted to pull him off her son.

The victim required stitches for his head wound.
