A 26-year-old New Castle man has been charged with assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Joshua Scott Sunday of 459 Old Route 19 was arraigned Wednesday before District Justice Jerry Cartwright and lodged in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.
Sunday faces felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor, in addition to misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors, indecent assault and harassment and one summary count of harassment.
Police said Sunday was arrested after he allegedly made multiple inappropriate comments and actions against the victim between Oct. 23 and Oct. 29 in Scott Township.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Lawrence County Central Court.
