Driver allegedly pulls gun

Road rage overcame a driver who got cut off by another, prompting a confrontation.

However, he ended up looking down the barrel of a 9mm semiautomatic handgun.

According to police, charges are pending against Rick L. Scarnati, 45, of 536 Norwood Drive, Wampum, after he cut in front of a 45-year-old New Castle man on Jefferson Street at 12:33 p.m. Oct. 14.

Neshannock Township police said the man followed Scarnati to a parking lot at the corner of Wilmington Road and Hazelcroft Avenue to confront him. The man and a passenger in his vehicle reported that Scarnati then pointed a handgun at him and left the scene.
