Robbery attempt foiled

A would-be robber didnt offer much resistance Monday when her intended victims refused to cooperate.

In fact, she just took off.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a white female wearing a hooded overcoat and sunglasses entered Northwest Savings Bank at 850 Main St., Volant, at 12:15 p.m. yesterday carrying a duffel bag.

The woman described as 5 feet tall, about 150 pounds with brown hair and between 25 and 30 years old demanded that a teller put money in the bag. She did not display a weapon.

Bank personnel not only refused to give her any cash, they also told the woman they were calling the police. At that point, the woman fled.

Anyone with information about the woman is asked to call state police at (724) 598-2211. All calls will be kept confidential.
