NEW CASTLE —
The Mahoning Township Volunteer Fire Department has extended its Friday fish dinners beyond the Lenten season.
The all-you-can eat event will be conducted two more times — from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and again April 13.
After that, the firefighters will be unavailable, explained Chief Francis “Poncho” Exposito.
The fare includes baked or fried fish; a choice of fries, macaroni and cheese or pierogies; coleslaw; roll and butter; and cake.
“The dinners are being extended because of the demand of people asking us to continue them,” Exposito said. “We’re doing it for the community.”
All the proceeds benefit the fire department.
The cost is $9 per person; $8 for anyone 62 or older.
