NEW CASTLE —
New Castle police are investigating the cause of a two-vehicle crash in front of their buildling.
Officers said a Freeman Aller, 82, of New Castle, was westbound on North Street about 2;50 p.m. yesterday when he collided with the back of a Jeep, driven by Robert Natale Jr., 49, of New Castle. Natale was southbound on East Street and the impact caused the Jeep to flip over.
Police said Natale was taken to Jameson Hospital, but said his injuries did not appear to be serious. Officers said Aller sustained a minor injury but refused medical treatment.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to police, but the officer said he does not believe speed was involved.
“The car clipped the Jeep at the driver’s side rear axle. Jeeps are known to roll over,” the officer said.
