Library Friends to host fall indoor yard sale

NEW CASTLE — The Friends of the New Castle Public Library will have its fall indoor yard sale next week.

All proceeds from the sale benefit the library, which will host the sale in the first-floor auditorium.

Hours for the sale are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26.

Although the sale will not have any clothing, almost everything else will be offered. Previous Friends sales have featured everything from housewares, artwork and electronics to collectibles, Christmas and children’s items.

Also this year, there will be a Hammond Chord Organ S6 for sale.

The Friends of the Library was organized in 1992 and, over the years, has donated thousands of dollars to the public library in New Castle.

In addition to the twice-a-year yard sales, the group conducts other fundraisers and operates The Book Cellar. This used book store is located in the basement of the library and is staffed by volunteers from the Friends.

It is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Proceeds from the Book Cellar also benefit the library.
