Refresh Dental to move next month

NEW CASTLE — Refresh Dental will be moving its headquarters to downtown New Castle next month.

Dr. Andrew Matta, a founder and partner in Refresh Dental, announced the company will move into the Cascade Center at the Riverplex April 19. The headquarters is now in Canfield, Ohio.

The city of New Castle purchased the building at Mill and East Washington streets from S&T Bank for $1.25 million last year, then deeded it over to Refresh Dental.

Approximately 70 employees will be making the move to the new corporate office, Matta said.

“We expect to grow to over 100 employees in the next 18 months.”

Renovations will be completed to the corporate office, which will be located on the second, third and fourth floors facing East Washington Street, he said.

Mayor Anthony Mastrangelo called the announcement “great news.”

The firm originally had set Nov. 1, 2012, as a target date to move.

The building has 73,000 square feet of space, which includes 32,000 square feet of office space and 15,555 square feet for restaurants.

Matta said the company will be offering training April 13 and 14 for approximately 60 doctors and staff at the new facility. Dentists from throughout Pennsylvania and other parts of the country will participate in the dental implant conference.

It will be “the first of many” training sessions that will be conducted at the Riverplex, he said. The firm will have a training facility and clinic at the site.

Matta said Refresh Dental is “about to execute a lease” with The Warner Film Center to occupy space in the building.

Jerry Kern, president of The Warner Film Center, said the organization will announce its plans within the next couple of weeks.

Matta said Refresh Dental also is talking with people about occupying the restaurant area and has been in discussions with some local businesses to perhaps provide them office space.

The company, which has more than 450 employees, owns and manages dental offices in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Refresh Dental handles the real estate, accounts and administrative duties for the dentists.

Matta said there will be a grand opening, probably in early summer.
