NEW CASTLE — New Castle City Council is seeking residents to fill positions on the city health board.

Currently, the board has one vacancy and the term of another member will expire April 30.

A third member has not attended meetings for several months, according to city health officer Patrick McGuire, who has asked council to appoint someone as a replacement.

Under state law, one of the members to be appointed must have a medical background. That person can be a nurse or a physician, McGuire said. The terms are for five years.

Interested residents should send their applications and resumes to city council/city clerk, 230 N. Jefferson St., New Castle, Pa. 16101.
