NEW CASTLE — A fundraiser for a Pennsylvania state police trooper who died in the line of duty is planned for Sunday.

The event at Applebee’s, 3300 Wilmington Road, is intended to raise funds in memory of Trooper Blake T. Coble.

Coble was killed Oct. 4 when his cruiser was struck by a tractor-trailer rig at the intersection of Routes 168 and 251 in Beaver County.

Customers who show up Sunday at Applebee’s with a special flier will have 15 percent of the cost of their meals donated to the Trooper First Class Blake T. Coble Memorial Fund.

Copies of the flier can be printed from the website of the Western Pennsylvania Police Benevolent Association, www.wppbf.org.

Coble was a 24-year veteran of the Pennsylvania State Police. He is survived by his wife and two children.
