Neshannock changes meetings, keeps chairman

NEW CASTLE — The Neshannock Township supervisors have moved their meetings to Tuesdays.

At their reorganizational meeting this week, the supervisors said they will continue to meet every three weeks and alternate between morning and evening sessions.

Their next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 29.

Ralph Sheen was retained as chairman and Ed Stevens became vice chairman. Joe Gierlach is the third township supervisor.

At Monday’s reorganizational meeting the supervisors noted the wages of tax collector Georganne Gall were set at $15,832.77 for 2013.

They also made the following appointments:

•Leslie Bucci, township secretary/treasurer at $48,286.40, plus benefits. The salary includes a 3 percent raise. They also approved a $250,000 bond for the treasurer for 2013. And they appointed Bucci open records officer.

•Lou Perrotta, township solicitor, at $120 per hour. No alternate township solicitor was named.

•Larry Keith, zoning hearing board solicitor, at $100 per hour.

•Jim Farris, township zoning officer, at $25,385.38.

•Adrienne Sauter of Butler, meeting stenographer, at $70 per meeting plus $2.95 per page.

•Arlene Davicki, planning and zoning secretary, at $63.24 per hour for the first hour and $7.25 per hour for each additional hour.

•RAR Engineering, township engineer, at the same rate as last year.

•Taylor Engineering, alternate engineer, and Lennon, Smith Souleret Engineering, second alternate engineer.

•Frank B. Taylor Engineer, bridge inspector.

•Al DeCarbo, emergency management coordinator.

•Matt McCaskey, full-time recreational employee for Pearson Park/Hess Ice Rink. He is the maintenance director and will be paid $11.67 per hour plus benefits.

•Teresa Audia and Tina Root, part-time management coordinators at Hess Ice Rink, at $11.67 per hour.

•Hatch, Mott and MacDonald, sewer engineer

•RAR, alternate sewer engineer.

•Mourice Waltz Consultants, sewer enforcement officer.

•Carmen Rozzi and Kenneth Rodgers, alternate sewage enforcement officers

•First Commonwealth Bank, depository for all funds for the tax collector; PNC Bank, depository for general, fire, state, light and other funds handled by the township treasurer; First National Bank, depository for sewer funds; Huntington Trust Services, depository for the township police and non-uniformed employee pension plans; Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust, depository for township and sewer investments.

•Dr. Elbert Acosta and Scott McConahy to four-year terms on the planning commission and James Haas as the alternate planning commission member.

•Frank Moses to a three-year term on the zoning hearing board and Mark Butler as alternate zoning hearing board member

•Bob Nittinger, chairman of the vacancy board.

•Phil Battista, township liaison to the New Castle Sanitation Authority.

•Neil Chessin, the township’s member of the New Castle Area Transit Authority.

•Gierlach, the representative to the Lawrence County Council of Governments and Stevens as alternate.

•Michelle Wish to a five-year term on the park commission.
