A Thaddeus Stevens Primary Center student suffered minor injuries in an accident Wednesday morning.
The New Castle fire department was called at 8:46 a.m. to East Washington Street, near the intersection of Almira Avenue. A van reportedly struck the child at a slow speed.
A fire department official said the child suffered scrapes and bruises. Medevac Ambulance transported the student to Jameson Hospital. He was then taken to a Pittsburgh hospital as a precaution.
