NEW CASTLE —
The Neshannock Township supervisors will continue their plans to lease two dump trucks, but from a different company.
The supervisors this week nullified the agreement with Reliant Financial Resources, which presented the low quote and was approved at the Sept. 26 meeting. The township has since been notified that figures had changed and Reliant was no longer the lowest offer.
The supervisors approved the offer of Acceptance Leasing which provided the lowest of three quotes.
Under the new arrangement, the township will lease-to-purchase two trucks for $242,727 over five years, paying about $50,000 per year. These funds will come from the township’s Liquid Fuels Assessment. The township receives $54,000 annually in liquid fuels funds.
The supervisors announced that at their next meeting at 9 a.m. Nov. 7 they plan to discuss speed limit changes, specifically on Buena Vista Drive. They are also updating the rules and regulations to be followed by residents who require grinder pumps for their sewage systems., and having a discussion on painting new lines on newly paved Plank Road.
In other business the supervisors:
•Announced they will purchase about 1,200 tons of road salt through the state’s cooperative purchasing program at $58.03 per ton, the same price as last year.
•Approved a plan revision for sewers for Highland Park and Blews Acres as required by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
•Authorized a $377,635 payment to Youngblood Paving from state funds and $41,035 from the general fund for the paving of Plank Road, Carmella Drive Tuscarora Drive, McCarty Lane and lower Sunset Valley Road.
•Contracted with Philip Weiner and Company to perform the 2012 audit for the Department of Community and Economic Development and sewer department
•Rescinded the hiring of Thomas Jovenitti as a temporary/seasonal employee and hired Stephen Rekich as a temporary/seasonal employee for the ice rink and park at $7.25 per hour.
