NEW CASTLE —
Tune in to Investigation Discovery at 9 p.m. tomorrow.
Attorney Matthew T. Mangino is getting camera time.
Mangino will be featured in “My Dirty Little Secrets” crime drama.
The hour-long episode called “The Stripper’s Secret” relates the story of Ben Novak, an heir to the Miami Beach Fontainebleau Hotel fortune, who was murdered in 2009. His bound and brutally beaten body was found in a New York hotel room.
Mangino was interviewed along with investigators, friends and acquaintances of the victim.
The former district attorney of Lawrence County said he was contacted by a producer for the show to provide comments on the investigation.
Locally, the show airs on channel 104 on Comcast and 420/HD138 on Armstrong.
“I was familiar with the incident but did my own investigating to learn more and information was also provided to me,” Mangino said. “It was an interesting case with interesting people.”
Tomorrow’s show, along with two other episodes that Mangino will appear in, were filmed at a studio in New York City last summer. Those shows will air on Jan. 22 and Feb. 12.
Each episode involves a different case, he explained.
As local residents watch for the first time, so will Mangino.
“I haven’t seen it yet,” he said. “It was a lot of fun and interesting to do.”
Mangino is an attorney with Luxenberg, Garbett, Kelly and George, P.C. He also is a former member of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, and does occasional commentary on WKBN Television.
A fourth episode involving Mangino’s commentary has not yet been shot, but he said he looks forward to taking part again.
“I’m flattered they would be interested in having me participate. It’s exciting and something I’m interested in.”
