One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting on New Castle’s South Side early yesterday morning.
Armand Giles, 24, of New Castle was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner R.J. Johnson, according to New Castle police.
A second victim, Jerell Huddleston, 18, of New Castle was flown to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh where he was listed in critical condition yesterday, according to police.
Police said Huddleston had suffered a gunshot wound and initially was transported to Jameson Hospital. No further information about his condition was available today from Presbyterian Hospital.
Police said they received a call at 12:39 a.m. regarding shots that were fired near the Unity Club at 16 W. Long Ave.
When officers arrived, they found Giles lying in a parking lot outside the club with several gunshot wounds to his body. Police said an autopsy will be conducted.
