Hoss’s Steak and Sea House in Neshannock Township is closing.
According to a press release issued by Hoss’s corporate office in Duncansville, Pa., the restaurant’s last day of business will be tomorrow.
The release noted the restaurant — at 2409 Wilmington Road — opened in 1985.
“This decision comes after many months of discussion, creative ways of doing business and exhaustion of all resources available to achieve profitability,” John Brown, Hoss’s president, said.
“We salute our crew members for their continuous efforts and truly regret that our time together has come to an end.”
The company said it is working to provide job opportunities for managers and other employees at other locations, if they are able to travel or relocate. There are 37 other Hoss’s restaurants in Pennsylvania and two in West Virginia.
A company representative declined to say how many employees the local restaurant has.
Hoss’s, a buffet-style restaurant, has been a participant and supporter in various community activities.
The company offered “Community Night” to local organizations as a fundraising activity. Through that program, a group would receive a percentage of the business’ sales on a given day upon presentation of community cards.
Company officials supported farm youngsters by buying grand champion animals at the Lawrence County Fair’s annual junior livestock auction.
Any customers holding unredeemed gift certificates may call the restaurant chain’s corporate office at (800) 900-4677 and speak to Krista Soellner for a full refund.
There is a Hoss’s restaurant on Route 208 near the Grove City outlet mall. It will remain open. That restaurant has been in operation for 10 years.
