Obama, Biden to make Beaver their first campaign stop

New Castle News

Sens. Barack Obama and Joseph Biden will stop in Beaver on Friday on the first day of a four-day bus tour.

The Democratic candidates for president and vice president, along with their wives, are scheduled to stop at Irvine Park, Third and Insurance streets, Friday evening, according to the Obama campaign.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the program is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. However, tickets are required. Space and tickets are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis at various locations.

Tickets can be obtained in New Castle at 117 E. North St. from 5 to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.

For security reasons, the Obama campaign requests people not bring any bags and to limit personal items. No signs or banners will be permitted.
