Neshannock man faces charges

New Castle News

Neshannock Township police has charged John DeVite, 19, of 9 Saratoga Circle with recklessly endangering another person.

The charges, which also include assault, criminal mischief and harassment, stem from a June 6 incident near 108 Maitland Lane.

Police said DeVite was a passenger in a car driven by a female juvenile. The two got into an argument, according to police, and DeVite allegedly grabbed the steering wheel from the driver, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

The car crashed into a residential lamp post and landscaping rock.

According to police, DeVite then assaulted the driver and fled the scene on foot.

Charges were filed with district judge Scott McGrath.
