The railroad gates at Sixth and Fourth streets in Ellwood City were down Thursday for 45 minutes.

Buffalo Pittsburgh Railroad reported to Ellwood City police that wires in the gauge of the track were cut. The incident occurred on the east side of the Fourth Street crossing and the tunnel crossing to the gates to Sixth Street.

Damage is estimated at $500. The incident is under investigation.
