Firefighters return to North Hill garage

— New Castle firefighters were called Friday night to a North Hill garage for the second time this week.
Chief Thomas Maciarello said his department had responded Wednesday to the 312 E. Garfield Ave. home of Jason Masello for a fire in the lower front corner of the detached, two-car garage at the rear of the property.
Friday night�s efforts focused on the overhead area on the opposite side of the structure, which firefighters opened up and hosed down.
No flames were visible from the exterior of the structure. However, a dense cloud of smoke enveloped the block as firefighters arrived around 11 p.m.
Maciarello said the state police fire marshal had been called.
