Charges against an East Side woman ’ accused of firing shots at three people ’ have been dismissed.

Lawrence County Judge J. Craig Cox signed an order last week dismissing three counts of aggravated assault, carrying concealed firearms without a license, recklessly endangering others, simple assault and discharging firearms within city limits against Starlette Dionne Murphy, 36, of 1114 E. Washington St.

Assistant District Attorney Daniel S. Soom told the court two victim witnesses refused to cooperate and could not be located.

This resulted in Cox dismissing all charges as requested by Murphy’s attorney, Joseph J. Kearney.

New Castle police charged Murphy following a report of shots being fired in the 300 block of Halco Drive on Sept. 6, 2008.
