The Neshannock Township supervisors will be cutting high grass at four township addresses.

Supervisor John DiCola Jr. said the township is enforcing an ordinance that enables officials to improve and file liens against properties that have been declared a public nuisance.

DiCola said property owners had been notified and all but four had promised to resolve the problem. The four to be mowed by the township are 17 W. Northview Ave., 110 Fireside Drive, 7 W. Englewood Ave., and 3478 Tuscarora Drive.

Officials said some of the properties had been abandoned.

DiCola estimated it will cost $30 to mow each property, “more if the grass is really high.” The township will file liens against the property and recoup its money if the property is sold.

DiCola, who conducted Wednesday night’s meeting in the absence of chairman Gale Measel Jr., announced plans to advertise for bids for road paving.

Because bids require the township to pay prevailing wages, the scope will be limited this year, DiCola said. Depending on the bids, he said, the township will pave two or three streets — the Hampton Court area, the Blews Drive area and Plank Road.

The supervisors accepted the planning module and plans for a sewage treatment plan to correct a septic system malfunction at 170 Sunset Valley Road and approved the developer’s agreement for roads, sanitary and storm sewers for Hearthstone Acres Phase III off Merritt Road.
