A New Castle man has been charged with the theft of a car and other property.

Richard Allan Vogan, 25, was arrested yesterday by New Wilmington police.

He was arraigned before District Judge Scott McGrath on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of an automobile and driving while under a DUI suspension. His bond was set at $2,500.

Police said they arrested Vogan in the Lawrence County jail, where he is being held on other, unrelated charges.

The new charges resulted from an incident Dec. 3, when Vogan allegedly took a car and personal items from a New Castle woman. Police said the vehicle, later recovered, had been abandoned in a New Castle housing complex.
