Man injured in Butler Avenue crash

A New Castle man was flown to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown with head injuries following a two-car accident yesterday.

Police said James Cragle, 28, of 3408 W. Washington St, pulled out from a parking lot at 1054 Butler Ave. at 12:45 p.m. yesterday and into the path of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck operated by Paul Makarevich, 78, of 36 Bryson Mill Road, who was eastbound on Butler.

Cragle was removed from his Ford Taurus by the New Castle Fire Department and taken to Jameson Hospital before being transferred to St. Elizabeth. His condition was not available.

Makarevich was treated for minor injuries, police said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Cragle was cited for failure to yield to vehicles entering or crossing the roadway.
