Police snare pair in drug raid

New Castle News

A cooperative police effort on Wednesday morning netted two brothers suspected of drug activity near New Castle High School.

City police, working with Pennsylvania State Police and the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, searched a house at 201 Mills Way.

Police apprehended Justin Jackson, 33, of 201 Mills Way and his brother, Keith E. Jackson Jr., 34, of Altman Road. They also took into custody a female preschooler located inside the house.

Keith E. Jackson Jr. was arraigned before District Judge Melissa Amodie on charges of manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance. He was place in Lawrence County jail on $25,000 bond.

Justin Jackson was jailed on an active bench warrant.

Police said the girl was turned over to Lawrence County Children and Youth Services.

Officers seized narcotics with a estimated street value of $8,000. Drugs include 218 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 30.3 grams of suspected marijuana and prescription pills. Police also seized a loaded .45-caliber pistol, digital scales and $3,734 in cash.

Officers said the police agencies had obtained a search warrant for the premises after multiple complaints of suspected narcotics activities in the area around New Castle Junior-Senior High School and the John F. Kennedy Primary Center.
