New Castle City Council approved a settlement with an Ohio company Thursday night.
Domestic Linen Supply and Laundry Co. had filed a lawsuit in Youngstown Municipal Court against the city and parks and recreation director Jason DiMuccio. The firm claimed the city owed it more than $9,000 for uniforms, towels and mats rented for the public works and parks and recreation departments.
Under the settlement, the city will pay the company $4,500 in four monthly installments of $1,125, beginning Thursday.
Solicitor Michael Bonner said the case �had been lingering� for about two years.
A resolution approved two weeks ago for the leasing of a greens mower from Textron Financial for $29,528.25 was rescinded. Council adopted a new resolution approving the leasing of a mower from the same company for $26,730.75. The price was lowered by about $3,000 with the trade-in of the city�s current mower.
Council approved a resolution accepting the donation of a new copier by Direct Image Copy Systems Inc. The city will continue its maintenance agreement with the firm for $330 a quarter, the same price as under the previous contract.
Council also approved the rental of a gradall for three days from Mahoning Township at a cost of $2,400.
