Two men are in the Lawrence County jail following a robbery in Ellwood City.
Domenic Pisani, 25, of Wampum, and Justin Gates, 19, of Ellwood City, were both arraigned before District Judge Melissa Amodie on robbery charges and placed in the Lawrence County jail on $10,000 bond each. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for Wednesday in Central Court.
Ellwood City police were called to a house in the 400 block of Loop Street at 11:20 p.m. Monday.
Residents said a friend, Pisani, had entered their house, left and returned a short time later with Gates, who was wearing a white bandana and carrying a baseball bat.
Police were told Pisani maced the residents and their small child. Officers were told Pisani then allegedly took a purse that contained a considerable amount of cash, jewelry and personal papers while Gates stood at the door with the baseball bat.
The two then fled, police said, running through the Ellwood City Hospital parking lot, where Pisani had allegedly parked his vehicle.
Police said Gates was apprehended later in a separate incident involving a traffic stop, and Pisani was arrested at the West Wind Trailer Park.
