Thieves take chips, dips

New Castle News

Thieves made off with truckloads of potato chips and other snacks from a warehouse depot in Neshannock Township.

Township police said thefts of delivery trucks at the Frito-Lay depot in Northgate Industrial Park occurred on three different occasions: Dec. 15, Friday and Monday.

The thefts involved a large amount of potato chips, Doritos, dip, pretzels and sunflower seeds, according to police. The items were in boxes set mostly for delivery to stores. The potato chips and Doritos were mostly in large bags, police said. The total value of the thefts is approximately $2,500.

Police said the thieves forced their way into the trucks.

Anyone with information or seeing a large amount of the product is asked to contact Neshannock police at (724) 658-4972, extension 218.
