NEW CASTLE —
New rates have been set for the Hess Ice Rink in Neshannock Township.
The rates will take effect when the rink reopens later this month. The facility has been closed for maintenance since July 1.
Most rates reflect a $1 increase from last year. Park and recreation management coordinators Tina Root and Tresa Audia said funds from the increase will be put into a special “Hess Project Fund” to be used for future rink renovations.
The new rates are:
•Public admission, $7
•Skate rental, $3
•Group rate with eight or more and including skates, $7
•Non-skating children age 3 and younger, free
•Birthday party rate, minimum of six, maximum of 22, $14
•Non-refundable reservation fee, $25 (no change)
•Extra pizza, $9.50 (no change)
•Ice rental reserved, $250 (a $20 increase)
•Ice rental reserved with unlimited skate rental, $275 (a $25 increase)
•Freestyle, $12 per hour, $6 per half hour
•Freestyle pass, unavailable
•Stick & Puck, $10 (no change, but the rink eliminates its “parent skate free with children age 12 and under.” Also, coaches will not give lessons at this time. A separate time is allotted on Friday nights for hockey lessons.)
•Hockey lesson time (45 minutes), $8
•Pickup Hockey, $12.
