I take strong exception to Jeffrey Koscinski’s letter of Jan. 15 regarding the recycling site behind the Lawrence County Courthouse.
The problem is not with the agency, but rather those who use and/or abuse the service. The amount of non-recyclable material left there and the disregard for others is appalling.
The agency does have contract cleaner-uppers, but they can’t police it 24/7.
The disregard of the clearly stated rules is the real issue. There was a site on Wilmington Road that was shut down because of user carelessness a few years ago.
The solution is educating the user to be thoughtful of their neighbors, something their parents should have taught them.
