Looking back at the presidential election, the letter writer who lamented Barack Obama’s loss in Lawrence County might be consoled by the unreported fact that Obama defeated Mitt Romney in the city of New Castle by a vote of 5,050 to 3,112, according to the county elections department.
Outside the city, Romney prevailed by more than 5,000 votes.
