Intermediate unit acted appropriately on records

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

I am writing in my capacity as director of human resources and right to know officer for the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV to correct a misstatement which appeared in your April 30 editorial.

In that editorial, it was stated as follows:

“Supposedly the lack of an appropriate response to that request came to the attention of the Intermediate Unit IV.”

This is not correct. The Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV administration provided a complete, timely and appropriate response to the right to know request in full compliance with the letter and spirit of the Pennsylvania Open Records Act. The board was thereafter promptly made aware of the right to know request as well as the response.
