Practical nursing cut will close door on jobs

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

Lawrence County is losing a gem with the loss of the practical nursing program.

Open any paper across the country and good-paying technical nursing jobs with benefits are in demand and growing even in the worst economy.

Getting rid of the technical training people need to get well-paying jobs in our community should be at the very least a last resort.

A lot of these students are single moms trying to make a better life.

I’m glad that the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center board has requested an audit, and I urge it to find a solution for continued education of the next generations in Lawrence County.

Have you held or will you hold a garage/yard sale this year?

I have and it was a success! It's a great way to get rid of some junk and make a little extra pocket money.
I have, but it didn't go over so well. Better luck next time?
I haven't yet, but I plan to.
I haven't and I don't plan to. It's not for me.
