Playhouse production is a fantastic bargain

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

Last Sunday, I went to see the musical “Sweet Charity” at the New Castle Playhouse.

It is a fabulous production. The storyline of a girl who is way too trusting, thus getting into predicaments, is interesting and a lot of fun.

The great dancing, exciting costumes, tricky stage sets, and of course wonderful voices provide an evening of magnificent entertainment. The orchestra should be mentioned too. We are so lucky to have this level of talent, and people who are willing to contribute to community theater.

You could go to Pittsburgh or Cleveland to see shows of this quality but you would have to pay $100 or so to sit close enough to see facial expressions and costume detail.

In New Castle, you can see all this for only $15 — from any seat in the house (seniors and students: $12).

A couple scenes in the play are a bit risqué, so people might want to leave their 8-year-olds at home.
