New laws won’t prevent criminal acts with guns

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

I disagree with the logic that new legislation is going to stop gun crime among citizens who are criminals.

I think teaching our great citizens the laws that are already in place on a federal and state level along with enforcing these laws is a better approach.

If our elected politicians want to save lives, what are their feelings on the Kermit Gosnell trial that gets little coverage in the media? Some of our representatives who are compensated with the money of taxpayers claim they are pro life, but there are some contradicting statements out there, like the support of Plan B and deformities of a child which they find acceptable excuses for abortion.

How concerned are they? Will Roe vs. Wade be overturned for saving the lives of our children?

If they are pro choice, then would it be any better if all the children or adults that have been heinously murdered by a criminal with a firearm would have just been victims of the legally aborted years or months ago in the womb? It sounds like an absurd analogy does it not?

I feel and pray for the victims, families and their friends who are left with the grief and anger from these crimes. Any crime regardless of the weapon used. The means and destruction of property and lives during the Boston Marathon and other acts like this included.

I guess one could argue how about the people of the pro-life movement who want to preserve the Second Amendment or may even be members of the NRA? The difference I see is the pro-life people don’t have a desire to murder an innocent person. They just want the right to protect themselves from a life-threatening situation, and do we dare say tyranny?
