News media misrepresent the truth about fracking

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

I am tired of seeing news media and extreme environmentalists expounding a false premise (out-and-out lies).

The news media claim they are fair and balanced. Yet they promote a false agenda with headlines that are factually wrong.

Fracking is one of the safest forms of drilling that man has come up with.

If the news media want to be fair and balanced, they should print headlines about how safe this form of drilling has been.

Drilling has not harmed farms or any other residential areas.

All the emotional reactions the media rile up, when they are wrong, should be addressed.

Lies are the wrong approach.

Beginning tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round of the NHL playoffs. So, who ya got? And in how many games?

Penguins, in five games or fewer. Too much firepower for the Blue Jackets, especially if Evgeni Malkin is ready to go.
Penguins, in six or seven games. It’s a pretty even matchup on defense, but Pittsburgh will grind it out.
Blue Jackets, in five games or fewer. Sergei Bobrovsky in goal for the Blue Jackets spells trouble for the Pens.
Blue Jackets, in six or seven games. Bobrovsky gives Columbus the edge, but it won’t be easy.
