Letter writer displays no respect for others

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

If Judge Judy would have read Joseph K. Waltenbaugh’s letter of Dec. 15, she definitely would use her famous line, “There’s something the matter with him.”

Who in his right mind would consider 64 million fellow citizens misfits and deviants? The last time we heard language like that was from the chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945.

Waltenbaugh’s rant portrays a complete disregard for anyone but himself and his beliefs. Waltenbaugh’s numeration lists himself as the only person who matters and I’m convinced that Waltenbaugh believes there is nothing wrong with him.

The only unanswered question is what happened in Waltenbaugh’s life to push him over the edge to lose his social conscience?

The Lawrence County commissioners have decided to solicit proposals for the private operation of the county jail. Good idea?

Yes. If it’s a more efficient way to run the jail, I’m all for it.
No. I think there would be too many questions of liability for the county.
Not sure. The county seems to be doing a good job of running the jail now. Why break it if it’s not broken?
