NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
Back on March 11, I was doing some work and started to push a big steel box.
All of a sudden, I heard this loud snap that came from my lower right leg.
The pain was unreal, to say the least. It made me feel sick all over, but then it went away. I figured that I had better get to the emergency room at Jameson Hospital and have it looked at.
I met a doctor named Reynaldo Carolipio and he sent me in to have some X-rays done. The diagnosis was a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The doctor told me to get in touch with a doctor named Matthew C. Liwski the following day and I did. Liwski wanted me to have an MRI done and it confirmed the torn Achilles tendon.
Liwski gave me a choice of having surgery right away or living with it for a while with no certainty it would get better. I chose to have the surgery.
Dr. Charles E. Wagner checked me out from head to toe and told me I was good to go for the procedure.
I had the surgery March 21. Everything went great and I am healing up. Looking back on this ordeal, I am grateful to all the people who took care of me. This includes the nurses, X-ray department, doctors and staff, as well as my wife, Judy, who has been with me from the start of this ordeal.
