Community displays support with blood

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

We would like to comment on the many wonderful people who showed up at the Union Township Municipal Building on May 30 to give blood.

It was a blood replenishment drive in honor of our 22-year-old son, Anthony Vitullo, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia.

He has received blood many times and most likely will need it again before his treatment is completed.

More than 70 people showed up from all over the area, wanting to honor Anthony by donating blood. These donations will provide more than 150 blood products for patients in area hospitals.

The Vitullo family would like to acknowledge these thoughtful people, many of who we have never met, for their outpouring of love and support. This is a true example of good things, and good people, in the New Castle area.
