Ohio State president’s Catholic comments hit

NEW CASTLE — Editor, The News:

After reading the Ohio State President Gordon Gee’s remarks about my Catholic Church, I have a few words of my own.

Gee, the president, being a Mormon, would not like one telling him that his Mormons are not Christians, being that they do not believe in the Trinity.

To be a Christian, we believe the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one. They believe each God is separate. So how can they be Christian?

His remark was about a priest being holy only on Sundays and can’t be trusted on a Thursday or a Friday.

Let it be clear there are some priests whom one doesn’t care for, but as long as they present the Eucharist, that’s all that matters to me.

So Gee is retiring and maybe he should go back to Utah where his love is needed with his church.

Just think if he mentioned the Jewish faith. All the press front pages and all TV would get on his back. He dare not talk about the Muslims; there would be war in Utah.
