NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
Recently, I just paid the third installment of my school taxes, which tax as a property owner I have always paid down through the years.
One of the great things about America is you get a full 12th-grade education. In fact, you have to go to school, but now it seems 12 years of school is not enough to survive or work in today’s world.
If we raised the school tax just a little, we could offer those who had the ability and desire another four years of instruction with paid college courses.
This would be a win-win situation. We would have better educated people, but they would not enter the workforce with crushing debt that takes the years to pay off, and if we all were paying as we do now, it would not be that expensive.
Maybe I should run for office. Anything would be better than the ads we have now.
