NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
Great entertainment is watching and listening to other people.
For example, I know individuals who search for cheaper gas and drive miles to get it, not realizing the few cents they save is irrelevant. Most times they spend more in driving expenses than saving.
I love folks who touch and feel fruit and vegetables as if they know what’s inside. Probably many before have had their feel too, and don’t guess where it was grown, in what, and how shipped before they grasp.
People talk constantly and negatively about the weather as if they are training to do an Olympic jump trial. If they want warmth, go south.
Business people say, “Have a good day.” Rather, say, “I hope this transaction satisfies your need.”
Watch people with mega-thousand-dollar pickup trucks with covers and all shiny. They obviously don’t haul anything but it makes them feel good to sit higher, pay higher gas bills, loans and insurance.
Listen to people on cell phones who say, “Do you want the green box of cereal?” Count the people driving with cell phones as if they are solving a world crisis. Deaths occur in autos via texting and I am waiting to go to a funeral with the deceased holding the phone in his hand.
Many people are rude to clerks in stores, banks and restaurants without ever saying, “Thank you.”
People read ingredient labels as if they know what they are seeing yet look like sumo wrestlers in training.
Others rush to medical services before they open and grumble because they have to wait. Many take papers printed from the Internet because they have self-diagnosed their conditions.
Some check mailboxes five times a day because maybe they won the lottery.
And you don’t have to pay for this fun stuff.
