NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
The New Castle Area School District has done it again.
Our family has been a season ticket holder for more than 50 years for the basketball season. We look forward to watching our great group of boys play for the championship of the WPIAL and the state.
However, the district advertised in The News that season ticket holders could buy tickets on Thursday for the game at the Palumbo Center, but they sold out very quickly to non-season ticket holders.
Buyers should have had their season tickets shown, punched and stamped. Did the clerk at the window do that? No.
Multiple tickets were sold to anyone who got in the line — leaving no tickets for the many season ticket holders who stood in line. No one had to show anything, except the money.
This is wrong, and another black mark against the New Castle school district. When will this type of lax supervision end?
I am not very hopeful, but I will still buy the next season’s passes. Maybe things will change next year. Who knows, miracles do happen.
