NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
I am saddened by the way our used-to-be-great country is.
We pick sides by which one will do the most for us. The government can keep on spending, growing, telling us what’s best for us, and ignoring what’s going to happen down the road. Our grandkids will never have what we have.
I know there is so much I don’t know about the inner workings of this government. I watched the show Washington put on with the near shutdown. The old pros waited for the new members who tried to change spending and the size of government do their thing, knowing nothing would change.
The pressure was too great to let our government fail, and with others falling into line, the good old boys reaped the harvest.
The folks who said they were for less spending, etc, made a deal with the folks who wanted to keep on spending, and they split up the spoils. The one big thing was Sen. Mitch McConnell, who received $2.9 billion for a dam for his state.
It makes me sick to see these guys play us like a drum. This country was so great because God blessed it. Now, Christianity is under attack. Don’t look for anything good to happen until we get back to the Bible and its principles.
