NEW CASTLE —
Editor, The News:
From the beginning, the American public has been lied to by this Obama administration about the Benghazi attack.
The mass media have also been complicit in this cover-up. The only thing phony here is the stone-walling that has taken place to keep the American citizens in the dark about the real cause of this incident: terrorism by al-Qaida and other Muslim groups.
President Obama no longer can claim that al-Qaida is “on the run.” Now he must say al-Qaida is “on their heels.”
Four Americans were murdered here, yet no one has been held to account for these killings. Obama said that “justice” will be served upon those who perpetrated this attack. We are still waiting, 11 months later, for justice against these terrorists.
One of the four Americans killed was the U.S Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens. The question remains as to why he was in Benghazi, which was not a safe place to begin with.
This meeting in Benghazi (with Turkish representatives) was for the purpose of getting arms to the Syrian rebels through the Turkish contacts. This was not a policy that was agreed to by Congress or the military. This had to be initiated in the White House because there was little congressional support for such a program.
In November 2012, it was reported by Middle East security sources that the U.S. mission in Benghazi was an intelligence and planning center to funnel aid and weapons to the rebels with shipments from Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Where was the congressional approval for this program? It was not there and as a result, America lost four patriots in a night-long firefight and no relief was sent to rescue them.
How could this happen in a country that operates under a Constitution that Obama repeatedly ignores?
